Power boost, sound flap sports exhaust, alloy wheels: JE DESIGN presents their Leon Cupra 290 ST Widebody

Topping off the summer season, the JE DESIGN team led by founder, Jochen Eckelt, presents the pinnacle of their Seat Leon tuning programme, the Leon Cupra 290 ST Widebody. A significant power boost, sound flap sports exhaust system, and bespoke wider alloy wheels add technical support to the sporty Spaniard’s dramatic visual makeover.

The JE DESIGN wide body kit features a new three-piece bumper/spoiler, extended front and rear wheel arches, side skirts in carbon look, and a rear valance featuring a pair of moulded diffusers that turn this sporty estate car into a much more purposeful looking machine.



While this Cup Racer inspired Widebody kit costs 4,879 euro, owners can also opt for a smaller slice of the action. JE DESIGN also offers their 809 euro rear diffuser, which has been designed to accommodate either the factory exhaust or the JE DESIGN sound flap sports exhaust. Drivers who want the rear of their Cupra ST to mimic a racecar can have FIA-approved LED rain lights (249 euro) integrated into this rear diffuser.

To ensure that their more aggressive looking car has the soundtrack to match its looks, JE DESIGN has developed an EC approved stainless steel sports exhaust with sound flap system. Controlled by the factory drive modes: Normal, Sport and Cupra, the exhaust flap remains closed in Normal and Sport modes, its tone sporty but discreet. In Cupra mode, the flap opens wide, allowing the exhaust to display its full singing voice.



Costing 2,499 euro, this sports exhaust comes with a choice of either four 80mm diameter tailpipes, or a single 160 x 90mm oval outlet per side. For an additional 1,178 euro, a 76mm diameter free-flow downpipe, jointly developed by JE DESIGN and HJS, to work with for the sound flap sports exhaust system is available. This performance-enhancing component also carries EC type approval.

To give their Cupra ST the performance credentials to match its more purposeful looks, JE DESIGN offer a performance ECU conversion that lifts the factory 290hp / 213 kW to 350hp / 258 kW with torque peaking at 440Nm. This makes for swifter acceleration in every gear, with top speed elevated to 280km/h. A comprehensive two-year warranty covering the engine, gearbox and driveline (from first registration) is available for 2,299 euro.

A lower ride height helps both a cars stance as well as its handling, and JE DESIGN offers a set of 20mm lower springs calibrated to work with the OE dampers for 191 euro. The keener driver in search of even better handling and the ability to adjust bounce and rebound settings can opt for the KW DDC Plug & Play coilover suspension kit costing 2,299 euro. Its wide range of height adjustment can bring the Cupra ST as much as 35mm closer to the tarmac.



To fill out the wide wheel arches, JE DESIGN recommend their Y-spoke alloy wheels in 9.5J x 19-inch, shod with 255/30 R19 tyres. Prices start at 2,052 euro for a set of four.

The above styling conversion is also suitable for the 265hp and 280hp variants of the Seat Leon Cupra ST, as well as the three and five-door versions of the Leon Cupra.

All prices include VAT, but exclude fitting and painting. JE DESIGN will undertake complete conversions, in which case German TUV certification will be included.

All JE DESIGN components are supplied with German TUV approval, or KBA model approval (ABE) notices. The sound flap sports exhaust system and the Widebody kit carry Swiss certification.
