The perfect suspension for every demand: KW automotive introduces KW Coilovers Variant 4
With the KW coilover kit Variant 4,
that will be presented at the Essen Motor Show 2016, the German
suspension manufacturer KW automotive combines its leading racing
technology with a clear plus of everyday practicality. By the
adjustable 3-way high-performance dampers in the new Variant 4, the
suspension can be changed quick and easy from a comfort setup to a
performance setup. The Variant 4 is developed exclusively for super
sports cars, sports cars and performance sedans and is already
available for vehicles such as the Audi R8 (42), Audi RS6 (C7), BMW M5
(F10), Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV or Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.
Depending on the car, the new KW coilover Variant 4 is made of aluminum
or stainless steel and has adjustable top mounts. The Variant 4 which
is delivered with a part certificate, also allows a continuous

The experience of numerous refiners, automotive journalists and especially drivers of super sports cars, sports cars and so-called "performance sedans" shows that many vehicles in this segment rarely manage the balancing act between everyday convenience and maximum performance. Often, the standard suspension is the weakest link, and even with numerous assistance systems, the driving behavior at the driving dynamics limit can often be marginal. The transverse dynamics are either at the expense of driving comfort or they suffer from the intervention of various assistance control systems. Even long drives can be a torture after a while. The suspension manufacturer KW automotive takes care at this point of criticism with its new development, the KW coilover Variant 4.  KW 3-way high performance dampers for Variant 4 With the KW coilovers Variant 4, the suspension manufacturer combines leading racing technology with a clear plus in everyday practicality for top-class super sports cars, sports cars and performance sedans such as the Audi R8 (42), Audi RS6 (C7), BMW M5 (F10), Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV, Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat and Co. Compared to conventional suspension kits, the Variant 4 has adjustable 3-way high-performance dampers. This allows an independent adjustment of the rebound damping as well as the low-speed and high-speed compression damping. KW provides the Variant 4 with a vehicle-specific comfort setting and the adjustable dampers can be set intuitively with the integrated adjustment wheel at the damper quickly to a performance setup, if required. With 16 exact clicks, the rebound adjustment wheel allows to adjust the rebound damping forces for a tighter handling or more comfort. For an even more individual driving behavior, the 3-way high-performance dampers can be adjusted independently of the rebound, also in the low-speed and high-speed compression damping, separately at the reservoir with six clicks in low-speed compression and 14 clicks in high-speed compression damping. Therefore, the Variant 4 allows to purposefully take influence on the steering behavior, an improved cornering stability, reduced rolling inclination and further parameters with regard to driving and transverse dynamics as well as the driving comfort. With the used KW valve technology, the suspension manufacturer relies on its experiences in the original equipment of high-performance sports cars and its international motorsport commitment as a supplier of factory teams. When it comes to the damper and valve production directly in Germany, KW automotive exclusively uses hard coated components made of aircraft aluminum as well as brazen alloys that ensure a low friction in the damping workspace, and therefore reduce breakaway torques at maximum duty. The KW coilover kit Variant 4 is manufactured depending on the vehicle-specific requirements in versions for McPherson suspension struts, spring struts for double cross-link or multi-link axles as well as push-rod wheel suspensions made of aluminum or stainless steel.  The first super sports cars, sports cars and performance sedans for which the new KW coilovers Variant 4 are available, are Audi R8 (42), Audi RS6 (C7), BMW M5 (F10), Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, Lamborghini Aventador and Lamborghini Gallarado. The Variant 4 features a part certificate and also allows a continuous lowering.
